Monkey Bread

You Will Need:

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350°F.

2. Prepare dough per the instructions on the Bake At Home Kit.

3. Mix the sugar and cinnamon together in a small bowl.

4. Melt 1 stick of butter.

5. Tear the risen dough into 55-60 one-inch pieces.

6. Roll each piece into a small ball and place 5-6 pieces at a time into the melted butter and coat each piece evenly.

7. Place buttered dough pieces into the cinnamon sugar mixture and shake bowl to coat. Then place the cinnamon sugar coated pieces of dough into a greased 10-cup Bundt pan.

8. Repeat steps 6-7 until you have used all the dough pieces.

9. Bake 30-35 minutes or until golden brown. Cool in pan for 5 minutes. Invert onto serving plate. Best served warm.

Dutch Country Soft Pretzels Ham & Cheese

Ham & Cheese Pretzel Pockets

Ham & Cheese Pretzel Pockets

You Will Need:

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 400˚F.

2. Make dough per the instructions on the Bake At Home Kit.

3. Divide the dough evenly into balls.

4. With a rolling pin roll out each ball into a round circle.

5. Place slices of ham and cheese on each round and fold dough in half and seal the edges. Dock the top of the pocket with a fork to allow the steam to escape while baking.

6. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.

7. Dissolve baking soda in 2 cups of very hot tap water, and stir until dissolved.

8. Dip each pretzel pocket in the baking soda solution, then place on a kitchen towel to drain off excess solution. Sprinkle with pretzel salt.

9. Place filled pockets on the baking sheet, making sure they are not touching.

10. Bake at 400° for 10-12 minutes, or until pockets are golden brown. 

11. Melt butter and brush on top of the pretzel pockets (*Optional). Serve warm.

 

For a variety, instead of Ham & Cheese, use the filling of your choice, such as: Cheesesteak, Pizza, Roast Beef w/Swiss Cheese, and Turkey & Cheese.

Pretzel Dogs

You Will Need:

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 400º F.

2. Make the dough per instructions on the bag.

3. Cut a 6” x 1”x 1″ strip of dough.

4. Stretch the dough strip. Starting in the middle, roll the dough strip outward till you have a rope about 22”x ½ long.

5. Starting at one end of the hot dog, wrap the dough strip around the hot dog leaving about ½ inch of hot dog exposed at each end. Secure the edge of the rope by pinching it to the dough strip after you have wrapped it once around.

6. Dissolve 3 tablespoons baking soda in 2 cups of hot tap water.

7. Spray baking tray with nonstick spray.

8. Dip each Pretzel Dog into the baking soda solution.

9. Place the Pretzel Dogs on kitchen towel to drain off excess solution, and then place on the baking tray, making sure the pretzel dogs are not touching.

10. Bake at 400. Baking times may vary. NOTE: Internal (core) temperature of the fully baked Pretzel Dog should reach 165º F.

11. Melt 4 Tablespoons of butter (optional). After baking the Pretzel Dogs brush butter onto the top of each Pretzel Dog (optional).

 

 

Yield 10-12 Pretzel Dogs

You Will Need:

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
2. Prepare dough per the instructions on the Bake At Home Kit.
3. Spray the pan with nonstick spray and sprinkle with flour so the dough won’t stick to the pan.
4. Place the dough ball in the center of the pan and stretch the dough out to the edge. Press the edges up the side of the pan. Or you can use a regular baking sheet, and then roll the dough out to the edge.
5. Pour the pizza sauce in the center of stretched dough and spread evenly, leaving about an inch of uncovered dough around the edge.
6. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella over the sauce. For a variation top the pizza with your favorite meats, or vegetable toppings.
7. Place pizza on bottom rack of oven.
8. Bake at 400° for 20-25 minutes or until the cheese starts to bubble and the bottom crust is crisp. Baking times may vary due to oven variances.
